Treatment of degreasing baths

Purpose

In the materials processing industry, degreasing is an essential stage prior to any further surface treatment. It is carried out using an aqueous solution containing a cleaning agent intended to emulsify the oil present on the part to be degreased. The bath containing the degreasing agent gradually becomes loaded with oil and the degreasing agent must be replenished; otherwise it quickly becomes ineffective.

Solution

Continuous removal of oil and return of a filtrate containing the purified degreasing agent. The service life of the bath product is significantly increased.

During treatment, the product is split into two phases:

  • the filtrate, consisting of purified degreasing agent, which is returned to the bath
  • the concentrate, which contains the oil and all suspended substances; it is stored, disposed of or – after thermal breaking of the emulsion – used as fuel

Benefits

  • increase in the effective service life of the degreasing solution
  • maintenance of bath quality and bath performance, as the oil concentration is kept at a stable level
  • reduced water consumption and reduced consumption of the degreasing agent thanks to recycling filtration
  • no personnel required to operate the system
  • reduced maintenance costs
