Innovative ceramic tubular membranes

TAMI Industries S.A. develops and manufactures ceramic tubular membranes for crossflow micro-, ultra- and fine ultrafiltration of liquid media.

A membrane (separation layer) is a thin material structure with pores that allow particles or molecules of a specific size to pass through or be retained. The operating principle is similar to that of a sieve (French “tamis”).

The technical challenge in membrane production lies in defining and producing pore sizes uniformly for specific particle or molecule sizes.

The operating principle of TAMI membranes

TAMI Industries S.A. manufactures ceramic tubular membranes with non-circular channels. These channels are coated with micro-, ultra- and fine ultrafiltration membranes with defined cut-offs between 1 nm and 1.4 μm.

TAMI membranes are characterised by a particularly narrow pore size distribution.
