Fermentation broth
Purpose
Conventional primary separation techniques do not always provide sufficient product quality (purity, bacteriology) and/or are increasingly restricted by environmental authorities (disposal of filter aids).
Solution
The crossflow filtration system uses INSIDE CéRAM™ ultra- or microfiltration ceramic membranes, which retain the substances produced by the cells. During treatment, the product is split into two phases:
- a filtrate consisting of purified enzymes
- a concentrate containing cells, suspended solids and macromolecules.
